The 2025/26 CAF Champions League final will see Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa and Morocco’s FAR Rabat battle for the grand prize.
Sundowns booked their place in the final after securing a 2-0 victory on aggregate against Esperance de Tunis. It was Brayan Leon who scored the only goal of the second leg when Masandawana hosted the Tunisian side on Saturday afternoon at Loftus Versfeld. This came after he had done the same when Downs were hosted in Tunisia.
The result sends Sundowns into their fourth Champions League final in history, becoming the first South African club to achieve that feat as they look to win their second Champions League title following their 2016 triumph.
On the other hand, FAR Rabat secured a historic place in the final for the first time in their history, overcoming RS Berkane 2-1 on aggregate despite a 1-0 defeat in Saturday’s second-leg semi-final in Berkane.
The Moroccan side’s first-leg advantage ultimately proved decisive, as Yassine Lebhiri’s second-half penalty gave Berkane victory on the night but fell short of overturning the deficit from Rabat.
The Rabat-based club were the 1984/85 champions of the previous Champions Cup but have not won the competition since it became known as the CAF Champions League.
