Power Dynamos goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga says he is determined to maintain his impressive form after overcoming a difficult period earlier in the season.
The Chipolopolo shot-stopper has featured in seven matches this campaign, conceding just one goal while keeping six clean sheets.
In the ABSA Cup, Mulenga has also made his mark, recording a clean sheet to help Power Dynamos secure a place in the semifinals against Nchanga Rangers, where he made three crucial saves.
Now back to his best, Mulenga has reclaimed the number one spot at Power Dynamos, edging out Willard Mwanza before he received a red card to miss his side’s most recent match on Wednesday against Nkwazi.
Before that, he started the five matches straight, keeping clean sheets in all of them.
Earlier this year, Mulenga was part of the Chipolopolo squad at the AFCON tournament but remained an unused substitute following a dip in form at the time.
Speaking to Bolanews in an exclusive interview, Mulenga expressed optimism about the remainder of the season.
“So far so good; it looks to be a good season, something that didn’t start well, but at least things look promising now. I went through a rough time previously, but now I’m back. I think you can tell from my performance in the previous games played,” he said.
Mulenga has remained grounded and vows to continue improving himself.
“I just want to focus and remain on the same level of good performance; I don’t want to lose track. I will keep working hard so that I do better in the remaining games. You never know what God has planned for me,” added Mulenga.
However, Mulenga will miss Power Dynamos’ upcoming match against Nkwazi due to suspension after receiving a red card in the game against Kabwe Warriors.
