The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has wrapped up its investigation into allegations of sexual harassment involving its executive committee member, Daud Mtanthiko.
Mtanthiko, who is currently suspended by FAM, stands accused of making sexual advances toward a female member of the Malawi Women’s National Football Team — the Scorchers — during a trip to South Africa for friendly matches.
While FAM president Fleetwood Haiya has remained tight-lipped about the details, stating only that his office is expected to release the findings this week, BolaNews has obtained exclusive information from sources close to the matter.
We understand that FAM held three hearings during which all involved parties were invited to present their accounts.

The disciplinary process, chaired by FAM First Vice President Madalitso Kuyera, summoned several key figures, including Scorchers head coach Lovemore Fazili, fitness trainer Robert Ng’ambi, team manager Ivy Zimba, and media officer Patuma Tonexi.
Mtanthiko and the alleged victim were each called twice — initially to give their individual statements, and later for a session that resembled cross-examination.
Mtanthiko admits entering victim’s room
According to the victim, Mtanthiko entered her room — a fact he also confirmed. When asked whether they were in a relationship or had any agreement to meet, the victim responded that she was not in a relationship with Mtanthiko and had not agreed to meet him in her room.
The accused told the committee that he went to her room to give her money for shopping. However, the victim denied requesting any money from Mtanthiko for that purpose.
A source close to the proceedings also revealed that CCTV footage corroborated parts of the incident.
“The footage is showing Mtanthiko moving from the first floor, where he was sleeping and visiting the third floor where the team was sleeping. It is showing him approaching a room in which the lady and all players were sleeping, he entered and also showing him leaving the room,” said the source.
The committee finalized its report on Tuesday this week and submitted it on Wednesday. FAM is expected to release the report this Saturday.
