Beston Chambeshi says he is eager to turn the fortunes around at Konkola Blades following his appointment as head coach.
Chambeshi has returned to coaching after being relieved of his duties at Nkana Football club in August this year.
He will take charge of Konkola Blades until the end of the season, with an option for a further year.
Chambeshi is among the most travelled coaches on the local scene. He has previously drilled Power Dynamos, Chambishi, Lumwana Radiants, and Kansanshi Dynamos.
The gaffer takes over from Enos Silwimba, who has since been demoted to assistant coach.
“Konkola Blades Football Club is pleased to confirm the addition of veteran coach Beston Chambeshi to the technical team to take charge as head coach starting immediately,” read the club statement.
‘We will definitely get into the right position in the league,’- Chambeshi
With five defeats, four draws, and just two wins this season, the Sharp Lazers are currently in the bottom four of the Super League, occupying the 15th position.
However, Chambeshi is optimistic that the club’s performance will change following his appointment.
“We all know the team has suffered a bit of a setback in the previous games,” he said. “But working with the same mindset and as a unit, we will achieve our desired results. We will definitely get into the right position in the league.”
Blades’ last league match was a 2-1 loss to Nkana on Wednesday at home to remain in the red zone as of match 11.
