Muza’s unbeaten run ends; Nkana wins second match of the season

The Zambian Super League mid-week fixtures saw FC MUZA's unbeaten run come to an end while Nkana recorded their second win of the season, with Kansashi stunning Kabwe Warriors.

FC MUZA’s 10-game unbeaten run has finally come to an end after losing 2-1 to Nkwazi Football Club on Wednesday.

Emmanuel Chabula’s 92nd-minute winner saw the Police Men end the Elegant Dynamites’ undefeated start to the season.

Early into the game, Joseph ‘Sabobo’ Banda’ scored his first goal in the Nkwazi colors before Henry Besa scored an own goal at the stroke of halftime but Emmanuel Chabula netted the match-winner in injury time.

Before the game, MUZA had been on a 10-game unbeaten streak (5 Wins, 5 draws).

Nkwazi’s victory moves them to fifth on the log with 19 points, one point behind the top four, while MUZA’s defeat keeps them second on the table.

On the Copperbelt, Nkana beat Konkola Blades 2-1 to record their second win of the season, with goals courtesy of Eric Yema and Royd Katuta.

Power Dynamos also ended their four-game winless run after beating 10-man Mutondo Stars 2-0 ahead of this weekend’s Kopala Derby.

There were also wins for Zesco United, Kansanshi Dynamos, and Kabwe Warriors.
