Bumpy Start For Chilumba As Mighty Mufulira Wanderers Lose Thrice Under His Charge

Week Ten Super League fixtures saw Nkana register back-to-back victories in the Zambian Premier League, while Mufulira Wanderers suffered a third defeat with new coach, Tenant Chilumba.

Former league Champions, Power Dynamos defeated whipping boys, Lumwana Radiants, 0-2 to reduce the diference to one point behind pacesetters, Zesco United.

Oswald Mutapa has now guided Aba Yellow to their fourth straight win, turning around the misfortune of picking up draws.

Zesco United, lead the table by 20 points, Power Dynamos in second position with 19 points, replacing Red Arrows, beaten 3-1 by Nkana’s Mwenya Chipepo side at Kitwe Stadium on Saturday.

The Ndola based side, Zesco could extend the lead at the summit to four points, if they collect all three points when they host under pressure, Wedson Nyirenda drilled side, Zanaco on Sunday.

In Choma, Southern Zambia, Green Eagles beat Mufulira Wanderers by a goal to nil, to punish Tenant Chilumba, to his second straight defeat since he took over the mantle at Shinde Stadium.

Chilumba’s second match in charge ended in a 1-3 home defeat to Nkana, a sharp contrast to Mwenya Chipepo, who has hit the ground running with two wins for Nkana.

At Godfrey Ucar Chitalu stadium, Kabwe Warriors recovered from two consecutive league defeats to emerge 3-0 victors over FC MUZA.
