Zesco United’s search for their first win of the season continues when they meet Mufulira Wanderers on Sunday in a wee-four fixture of the 2026 Transitional League.
Zesco United suffered a 1-0 defeat to in-form Green Eagles last weekend.
The nine-time League Champions will host the legendary club at Trade Fair Grounds.
Both teams are still hunting for their first victory of the season after two games played.
Zega Mambo is sixth on the log with only one point from two matches.
Addressing the club’s media, head coach Mwenya Chipepo is determined to see his side recover from last week’s home defeat.
“So far so good; we have done well in training. The team looks good, though it was not good to lose at home; it was a very painful defeat, and we were not happy. We are playing Mufulira Wanderers; we just have to win,” he said.
However, the coach tipped the team to be more clinical in the final third.
“We are struggling to score; what is needed now is to convert the chances we are creating. Even if you play good football without scoring, it means nothing,” he added.
“We are worried; last time we missed a lot of chances, and we have managed to work on the mistakes we made. Hopefully we must score some goals tomorrow (Sunday),” noted Chipepo.
