Kaizer Chiefs captain Inacio Miguel has boldly declared that his side are going for an outright victory in tomorrow’s crucial CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round tie against Zambia’s Red Arrows FC.
Chiefs were beaten 1-0 in Ndola last week in the first leg and face a daunting task to overturn the deficit and secure a place in the group stage.
“I am not thinking about losing the match tomorrow,” Miguel told a post-match press conference on Thursday.
He continued: “I can’t think about something like that happening. There is no losing tomorrow; my mindset is only on winning.”
A 1-0 victory for Kaizer Chiefs would level the aggregate score at 1-1 and take the tie into extra time, with a penalty shootout possible if the scores remain level. A 2-0 win would see Amakhosi advance with a 2-1 aggregate victory.
However, if Red Arrows score, it could complicate the hosts’ task, as Chiefs would need to win by two goals if the Zambian side find the net

Meanwhile, Chiefs head coach Fernando da Cruz has also said that the only objective is to advance to the group stage, revealing that his players are ready to overturn the deficit.
“We faced a good team in Zambia, it was a tough game, unfortunately we conceded one goal from a set piece at the end of the game. Now our objective to fight tomorrow for a place in the grouo stage,” Cruz said.
