Kabwe Warriors suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 2-1 to Power Dynamos in a Week nine fixture at Arthur Davies Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Warriors has had a fantastic start to the season, winning three games, drawing four, and losing just one. Sunday’s defeat dropped them to sixth place in the league standings, with 13 points from eight games played so far.
Their head coach, Numba Mumamba, praised his side for the good performance, despite the defeat.
“A very exciting game. I think power dynamos came to the party in the first half; they were on top of us in the first half and they capitalized on our individual tactical discipline and they managed to get the two goals.
“When we reorganized and took charge of the game the last 15 minutes, unfortunately, we couldn’t get a goal,” said Numba.
Despite the defeat, Numba has shifted his focus to their next match against Red Arrows and he looks to work on his strikers.
“On the striking force, we have got enough options. I think our strikers just didn’t come to the party; I think only Mwamba [Mutobo] looked better upfront, but the other guys didn’t do well. We just have to encourage them so that they can do better as we play Red Arrows in the midweek,” he said.
Warriors and Arrows will clash in a rescheduled fixture on Wednesday at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium.
