Just a day after being unveiled at Masters Football Club, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets has written to the newly promoted side to stop using their goalkeeper trainer Victor Mphande.
A Bullets official told BolaNews in confidence that Mphande had submitted a letter of resignation on March 8, but the club is yet to respond.
“We have been surprised to see that Mphande has been unveiled at Masters Club, it is shocking,” said the source.
The source said Mphande signed a three-year contract with Bullets that runs until January 2028 and, therefore, should not join another club without being cleared by Bullets.
“He wrote us a resignation letter on Sunday, March 8, and we planned to respond to him. Resigning is not an automatic thing; he was supposed to respond. His contract has conditions; they are things he should surrender to the club. All that has not been resolved, only to be surprised today that he has joined the Masters.
“It is surprising; this is why we have written to Masters to stop using Mr Mphande until all matters are resolved with us,” added the source.
Mphande has followed coach Peter Mponda, who joined Masters after being fired by the Blantyre-based club. Mponda sued Bullets for unfair dismissal, and his case has not yet been resolved.
The goalkeeper trainer previously worked with Mponda at Silver Strikers before leaving to join Bullets.
Mphande has also worked as a goalkeeper trainer at Dedza Dynamos and has spent several years serving as a goalkeeper trainer for the Malawi national team, the Flames.
