Napsa Stars midfielder Matthews Tolopa says he is targeting to score more than 10 goals this season to help his team avoid relegation.
Tolopa has been impressive for the Pensioners in recent matches, scoring in two consecutive games.
The former Kabwe Warriors midfielder opened his account against Power Dynamos before registering his second goal against Mines United, helping the team bounce back to winning ways after a four-game winless run.
Out of the 23 matches played so far, Tolopa has featured in 12, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
Tolopa said his target is to score more than 10 goals this season.
“I just need to take each and every opportunity given to play and score to help the team get positive results. I want to reach 10-plus goals and contest for a golden boot; it has been my target, but I can’t say I am in the contest. I can say, ‘Let’s see until the last game. God is still doing it in his way,'” he said.
The former Indeni FC midfielder also believes his side can finish in the top eight by the end of the season.
“Looking at recent performance, it’s not that good, but we are almost there; we will surely end the league in the top eight,” he said.
Meanwhile, Napsa Stars will face Nchanga Rangers on Thursday in their next Super League fixture. They are currently 15th on the table with 24 points from 23 games.
