Former Leicester City winger Matt Piper has heaped praise on Brandan Rodgers for reinstalling belief in Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
Iheanacho has scored two goals in his past two Premier League matches with three assists for the Foxes.
Piper has described the Nigerian as a “confident player” who deserves more game time.
“I always say Kelechi is a confident player,” Piper told BBC Radio. “What did him so well is that he came on in the FA Cup game against Walsall and scored.” “He was probably thinking in that Villa game that the gaffer was going to go back to Patson Daka and he didn’t which was huge for him.”

Piper has applauded Rodgers’ decision to stick with Iheanacho. He believes the Nigerian is the best option as Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka, are struggling for form.
“He has only ever gotten in the team from default before if someone was injured. Even when the two strikers were out of form in front of goal the manager still kept picking Jamie Vardy or Daka,” Piper said.
Iheanacho completed 100% of his dribbles and won 7 duels with four shots against Spurs last weekend.
In addition, the striker made one assist and scored a goal in the 77th minute to help the Foxes record a 4-1 win.
Daka was an unused substitute for the second time in a row in that match, while Vardy played the last 13 minutes.
