Ex-Chipolopolo Chintu Kampamba advises Zambian players playing abroad

Chintu, a member of the winning team in 2012, thinks the current group of players has what it takes to restore Chipolopolo's glory, but they will need to put in more effort.

Chipolopolo players based overseas have been counseled by former Chipolopolo boys defender Chintu Kampamba to take advantage of every chance and avoid becoming big-headed.

The former Kabwe Warriors made his debut appearance for Zambia in 1999 and made 33 appearances. 

Kampamba also participated in the CAF African Youth and the FIFA World Youth Cup in 1999 respectively.

Chintu, a member of the AfCON-winning team in 2012, thinks the current group of players has what it takes to restore Chipolopolo’s glory, but they will need to put in more effort.

Speaking to Bolanews exclusively, Kampamba advised Chipolopolo players to remain humble and never forget their background.

“They should know that humility is very important, not forgetting where they are coming from. That opportunity they have anyone can have it aswell. So no time to relax, but time to even work extra harder,” he said. 

“They should not forget to come and invest home secure their future as football ends at any time. They should plan for the future too,” noted Chintu. 

Kampamba is currently the head coach for the National Division One Side City of Lusaka.
