MacDonald Mtetemera, Mighty Wanderers acting head coach says Malawians should expect a win in Tanzania, indicating that his charges will score three goals past Simba SC when the two face off at Uhuru Stadium on Sunday.
The two sides will meet in the second leg of the CAF Champions League first preliminary round, with Simba carrying a 1-nil lead from the first leg in Malawi.
Wanderers needs to score two goals without conceding to progress, or force the match into penalties.
But coach Mtetemera said winning is what they are planning, and he is confident his charges will score three goals past Simba.
“We are here to attack; it is attacking. We are not here just to defend; yes, we will defend, but attacking is what we will do to make sure we score goals and progress to the next round”
“I see us scoring three goals so we progress to the next round. Yes, they won in Malawi; it is possible for us to win here. We will not play as if we are playing away; our mentality is that we are at home,” said Mtetemera.
Wanderers have brought in former Yanga FC assistant coach Patrick Mabedi to work as a technical consultant to help them ahead of the match.
Mtetemera said they have learned a lot from Mabedi, and he is hoping that beating Simba will be easy work.
“Mabedi has analyzed Simba well based on the footage available. His input is enough and will help us in this match,” said Mtetemera.
