Jasper Masialeti, a former Green Buffaloes and Power Dynamos striker, has made a sensational impact in his debut season in the Debmarine Namibia Premiership with newly promoted KK Palace. With 12 goals and 5 assists, the Zambian forward is just one goal behind top scorer Mbakondja TjahiKika, with five matches remaining.
“When I came here, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy,” Masialeti told Bolanews.co. He credits Coach Anderson Phiri for his success: “Thank God I found a Zambian coach, Coach Anderson Phiri. He has helped me so much to score these goals — he has played a very big role.”
The 26-year-old striker also acknowledged the support he’s received while adapting to a new country. “They had hope in me. They supported me so much… Thank God things are now moving well — I’m on 12 goals, one behind the top scorer.”
Initially aiming for 10 goals, Masialeti has exceeded his target and is now chasing the Golden Boot. “Whenever I see the chart for the top scorer, it motivates me a lot… I know this one is going to mean a lot to me because I have never been a top scorer for my previous leagues.”
Reflecting on his development, Masialeti praised his experiences at Green Buffaloes and Power Dynamos, especially learning from seasoned players like Christopher Katongo and Alex Ng’onga. “Even for me to reach this far, it was because of those guys,” he said.
As interest in his next move grows, Masialeti remains open-minded: “My mission is to go abroad — to see which team comes on the table. But even going back to Zambia won’t be a problem, as long as a big team comes.”
