Kabwe Warriors FC head coach George Chilufya has admitted that he knows nothing about Chitundu United ahead of this afternoon’s ABSA Cup Round of 16 clash at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
The coach said he is expecting the unexpected.
“Unfortunately we don’t know that; we don’t know they play like that,” Chilufya responded after being asked how he will handle Chirundu’s high-press style of play.
“We need to stick to our own game plan and then probably react to their style of play, we are ready to expect the unexpected,” he added.
Asked if he knows anything about Chitundu, Chilufya said “nothing.”
Kabwe Warriors have never won the ABSA Cup and are targeting their first title this season, having finished runners-up in 2023.
“It’s for every coach’s plan to try and see if you can win something. If we can’t win the league then we should win the ABSA Cup which is the only cup in our country,” Chilufya concluded.
Meanwhile, Chirundu United coach Caston Chilekwa is confident that his team has prepared well for the match.
“It will be a good game, playing Kabwe Warriors with experienced players and coach so we have prepared well the boys are showing positivity,” he said.
