Nora Häuptle’s future as Copper Queens coach is uncertain amid a strained relationship with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).

Sources have told BolaNews that FAZ is not considering terminating her contract and intends to honour its terms. However, should Häuptle formally submit her resignation, the association would accept it.

“FAZ is not happy that Nora works remotely and is rarely in the country,” one source said. “If she decides to resign, she will be let go.”

Häuptle, on the other hand, is also understood to be dissatisfied with FAZ, feeling that her requests, particularly regarding tournament preparations, are often not met.

The 41-year-old Swiss tactician succeeded Bruce Mwape in January 2025 and led the team at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where the Copper Queens reached the quarter-finals.

She signed a three-year deal and has two years remaining on her contract.
