Former Zambia striker Signs Chibambo has projected the MTN Super League’s leading scorer to finish the transitional season with approximately 10 goals, while emphasizing the importance of consistency as the campaign progresses.
Chibambo said the current scoring figures provide a basis for the projection but challenged the leading forwards to maintain their form over the remaining matches.
“Then now the question is whether that consistency can be maintained throughout the season,” he said.
“Looking at the numbers, I would project the top scorer to finish with approximately 10 goals after 12 games if they maintain the same scoring rate. For me, the real test for a striker is not just scoring goals but maintaining consistency. Let’s see how they perform over the next few games. The season is still young.”
Zanaco striker Araina Lambert and Trident FC forward Sam Sikasote are currently setting the pace in the scoring race, having netted five goals each after six matches.
The two forwards are joint leaders on the Week Six top scorers chart, with their tallies placing them one goal ahead of Zesco United striker Kennedy Musonda, Lazarous Kambole (Nkana FC) who have scored four times.

Six players have three goals each. They are Paul Tembo (Kabwe Warriors), Lewis Kasono (FC MUZA), Joseph Ssemujju (Kansanshi Dynamos), Joseph Kiala Wa Kiala (Zanaco FC), and Raphael Silwimba (Mutondo Stars).
Power Dynamos’ Joshua Mutale completes the top 10 with two goals.
With six matches played in the transitional campaign, Lambert and Sikasote will be looking to maintain their scoring form as the race for the Golden Boot develops.
