Zambian Super League side Power Dynamos FC head coach Mwenya Chipepo has expressed concern about his team’s lacklustre performance following their 1-1 draw against Zanaco on Sunday.
Power’s draw came after two consecutive defeats, 3-2 to Green Buffaloes and 2-0 to Kabwe Warriors.
Chipepo expressed disappointment with the result on the weekend and hopes the team will improve in their next fixture.
“We are very disappointed,” he told reporters after Sunday’s match. “We lost two games in a row. I wanted us to pick up three points against Zanaco, but drawing at home is not good. Though our boys played good football, we created chances but couldn’t convert them.
Chipepo is very worried about his strikers failing to score goals.
“I am very worried about the current performance of the team,” he said. “We just have to work hard for the next game. Scoring is our biggest challenge.”
Last season’s Zambian Super League Golden Boot and Player of the Season Award winner from Power, Andy Boyeli has so far only managed to score three goals in nine matches this season.
He added, “We will need to work on converting the chances we are creating. We are playing Red Arrows away from home, another tough game, but we just have to work extra hard. It will be a very difficult game.”
