Zanaco FC is winless in their previous six MTN Super League games after Green Eagles came from behind to beat them 1-2 at Sunset Stadium Saturday.

Amity Shamende’s brace was enough to cancel out Chawananagwe Kaonga’s first-half strike as Eagles won their second game in a row.

Since their last win in January, when they defeated Nkana 3-2, the Bankers have lost four times and drawn twice.

Coach Kelvin Kaindu described Saturday’s result as one of the most painful defeats that his side has suffered this season.

“I think it’s one of the most painful losses that we have recorded,” stated the Zanaco head coach.

On the fans’ reaction, Kaindu said: “Honestly, when you are not picking up results, everybody will be sad. And if there is one area where people will probably get agitated, it is the fans.”

“They are coming out in numbers, they still have faith in us. Like I said earlier, we looked better the way we started and just broke down in the second half.”

The duo and their charges at Zanaco have not won a single match in their last three outings in which they scored only twice and conceded four goals.

Zanaco is currently 11th in the league standings with 33 points, 17 below leaders Power Dynamos.

The Bankers will travel to Kitwe for their next fixture against the league leaders next weekend.
