Despite finishing as the MTN Super League’s top scorer with 21 goals for Power Dynamos, Moses Shumah has once again been overlooked by Kenya head coach Bennie McCarthy for the national team.
Kenya had initially been scheduled to face Palestine and Kyrgyzstan during the FIFA international window. However, those fixtures have since been replaced, with the Harambee Stars now set to take on Lesotho in a two-legged tie.
The revised matches will both be played at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa, as Kenya continues its preparations during the international break.
The first match is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2026, while the second will be played on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Many expected Shumah to earn a call-up after becoming the first player to reach the 20-goal mark in the Zambian top flight since 2018.
In April, the 23-year-old opened up to BolaNews about how he felt after being left out of the national team despite his outstanding form for Power Dynamos, where he helped the club win the league title.
“I won’t say I know the reason why they don’t call me,” he said. “Because I think that’s for the officials and the coach. My part is just to push and score goals, that’s all. I don’t know the other side.”
Shumah made his debut for Kenya in 2023 and has since earned four caps, scoring one goal.
