Red Arrows FC defender Brian Chilimina has been one of the standout performers for the Airmen, playing a key role in helping the team win the 2026 Absa Cup and secure qualification for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
In an interview with Bola News, Chilimina described the recently concluded season as challenging. He said winning the Absa Cup helped ease the disappointment of missing out on the MTN Super League title.
“The just-ended season was tough; it was not easy,” he said. “But winning the Absa Cup was a good experience; it was a sign of hard work, and we really pushed each other. I think it made up for the missed chance to win the league.”
Chilimina has become a fan favourite for his post-match celebrations, often leading his teammates in dancing and singing with supporters after positive results.
“I love dancing and singing; it is one of the ways to connect with the fans. They really love us, and so we have to dance with them to appreciate,” Chilimina said.
Next season, the defender could come up against his two brothers, Isaac and Philimon, who recently earned promotion to the MTN Super League with Chirundu United. He described the prospect of facing his siblings in Zambia’s top flight as an exciting one.
“I’m happy to see my brothers progressing very well in football; it is a blessing to have a family with such talented individuals. I have been encouraging them to keep being disciplined and hard-working as they come to the Super League,” he concluded.
