George Chilufya, Kabwe Warriors head coach, was delighted with how some of his players accounted for themselves in the absence of regular starters, despite settling for a draw against Green Eagles.
Last week on Thursday, Kabwe Warriors and Green Eagles drew nil-all in a week 9 rescheduled fixture at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium.
Warriors are without first choice goalkeeper Mangani Banda, defender Killian Kanguluma, and midfielder Humphrey Bwembya.
The trio is away with the Chipolopolo boys in South Africa.
Coming from a 1-nil defeat to Red Arrows, the past weekend, the Magnificent people’s team, were looking forward to redeeming themselves with a win against visiting Eagles side.
The outcome left Kabwe Warriors stuck in fourth place with 19 points from 11 matches played.
Addressing journalists after the match, Chilufya appreciated the team’s depth in the absence of key players.
“I think all those that replaced the usual starters, I think they accounted for themselves very well. We have depth, and it’s good to have such depth in the team,” he said.
Coach Chilufya further noted that the team will utilize the international break to work on the finishing.

“I think the only problem we have had in the past has been scoring, so I think it gives us enough time to work on the finishing more, especially in the final third,” added Chilufya.
After the international break, Kabwe Warriors will face defending league champions, Power Dynamos.
