Chifundo Mphasi, Malawian international says his team, Power Dynamos, is looking forward to making history by defending the league title back-to-back.
Power Dynamos are targeting their ninth league title.
The defending champions have been in top form this season, as they currently sit at the summit of the league table with an 12-point lead difference.
Power Dynamos, fondly known as Aba Yellow have amassed 67 points, marking 20 wins, 7 draws, and 2 defeats from the 29 games played.
The Kitwe giants only need four points in their remaining fixtures to be crowned champions with four games left to play before the close of the 2025-26 Super League campaign.
Mphasi has been a key player in the Oswald Mutapa squad, helping the team maintain a superb performance.
However, speaking to Bolanews exclusively, Mphasi said the team is ready to make history.
“We are winning the league; I think that’s the mission we are working on. We want to defend the league because Power Dynamos has never defended the league before. This is our chance to make history, and that’s the goal that we have,” he said.
The Malawian international further said the team wants to play in the CAF Champions League.
“And again, we want to qualify and play CAF because if we don’t defend the league, it will mean another team will have to start over again. So as Power, we know where we left off, and we will start from there. So two things: defending the league and playing CAF,” added Mphasi.
