Veteran trainer Beston Chambeshi has welcomed the move by teams to recruit young coaches to top clubs ahead of the new season.
Ahead of the new season, two celebrated teams, Mufulira Wanderers and Kabwe Warriors have appointed relatively young trainers.
Kabwe Warriors have appointed George Chilufya, who for most of his career has worked as an assistant coach and an interim trainer.
On the other hand, Wanderers, a legendary club, has turned to Lameck Banda, who most people consider does not merit the pressure that comes with coaching a club like Wanderers.
According to Chambeshi, who has been a coach for 31 years, coaches need to be given an opportunity.

“Our generation is passing,” Chambeshi told Bolanews, “So it is good to see that clubs are giving a chance to younger coaches. It is the only way they can improve,”
Chambeshi recalled how his coaching career began.
“I remember when I started as an assistant to Ben Bamfuchile at Nkana, and later I made the jump as a head coach at various clubs.
“For us as the experienced coaches, we have to support and compete with them because they have a lot to learn from us,” he said.
