Nchanga Rangers have secured the services of head coach George Lwandamina for two more seasons after the experienced tactician agreed to extend his stay at the club.
The development has been welcomed by club president Eng. David Mukumbuta Mukelabai, who described Lwandamina as a key figure in the team’s recent progress and reiterated the club’s commitment to supporting the technical bench ahead of the 2026 Transitional League.
Mukelabai said the club was pleased to retain a coach of Lwandamina’s calibre, adding that his leadership and vast experience would be crucial as Rangers seek to build on the gains made in the previous campaign.
The coach’s contract extension has also received backing from Konkola Copper Mines (KCM), the club’s sponsor. KCM Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Brian Siatubi expressed confidence that supporters and stakeholders would welcome the decision, while reaffirming the mining company’s commitment to the club.
Siatubi further called on fans and stakeholders to continue rallying behind the team as preparations for the upcoming season gather momentum.
Lwandamina, meanwhile, pledged to continue working towards improving the team and said the technical bench would strive to build on the achievements of the last season as Rangers prepare for the transitional campaign.
The club has since wished the coach and his technical staff success in the upcoming season and indicated that information regarding player recruitment and squad strengthening will be communicated during the off-season.
