Nkwazi FC goalkeeper Lukas Mainza anticipates that the MTN-FAZ transition league will be a competitive season.
Mainza has exhibited some exceptional performances for the police outfit, having helped the team survive relegation during the 2025-26 season.
With the 2026 transitional league set to begin in September, the young goalkeeper will be looking forward to putting up a better performance and helping his side secure a good finish in the league standings.
On the other hand, Nkwazi will be seeking to make a strong start to the 2026 transitional league set to run from September to December 2026.
However, speaking to Bolanews exclusively, Mainza promised to put up a strong performance.
“The league has now been made short, which calls for a lot of determination and hard work. I will need to improve on my last season’s performance so that I can help my team perform better this time around. I had to utilize the break to prepare for the season, and I feel I am ready to deliver,” he said.
The Nkwazi FC shotstopper added that he wants to achieve more clean sheets this time around.
“My main target is to keep as many clean sheets as possible; last season I didn’t do well, and I failed to meet the target, so this time around I will need to make sure I will deliver and achieve my set targets for the season,” noted Mainza.
