Kansanshi Dynamos head coach Muhammad Fathi has declared his intention to secure a positive result when his side travels to Choma to face Green Eagles in a Week 22 MTN Super League encounter this Saturday.
Fathi, who returned to the dugout during Dynamos’ 1-1 draw against Mutondo Stars over the weekend, admitted his team failed to capitalize on numerous scoring opportunities.
“I think the way we started the game, we did not start on a high note. We tried to play a passing game but there were too many in the midfield. Some chances we were supposed to take and shoot, but we did not shoot too much in the first half,” Fathi said.
He noted that his side improved after the break despite conceding through a defensive lapse.
“Second half we fixed it and came back to the game. They scored on us by mistake from the defence but we managed to come back fast. The last 15 minutes we pushed two strikers and put more pressure, but we missed the last chance from the corner,” he added.
With revenge on their minds following a 1-0 first-round defeat in Solwezi to the Perry Mutapa-drilled side, Fathi said the focus is now on sharpening the attack.
“We have to go back to the drawing board and push more exercises on the attacking force. The most important thing is to focus on Green Eagles. In football, everything is possible,” he said.
Kansanshi Dynamos’ last visit to Choma in the 2023/24 season ended in a 4-1 defeat, and they will be looking for their first-ever win at Independence Stadium.
