In the Super League’s week seven fixture, Zesco United thrashed bottom-placed Mines United, 5-0, on Sunday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
The resounding win was Zesco United’s second; last weekend, they defeated Gabonese team Canon FC 105 by the same score in a CAF match at the same venue.
Emmanuel Siwale was left delighted following his team’s back to back victories.
“I am happy not because of the goals but because we have won,” Siwale said after the final whistle.
Despite the dominant scoreline, the Zesco boss described the encounter as one of his team’s toughest tests this season.
“This game was one of the most difficult. Despite scoring, it was a difficult game,” he admitted.
While pleased with the attacking output, Siwale insists his team must remain focused on improving their finishing.
“Yes, but the five goals that we have scored were more difficult than the chances that we missed. The sure chances. That’s what we have to work on. We could have scored more than the five goals, which was going to be very important,” he explained.

With the FIFA international break now in effect, Siwale confirmed there will be no rest for his players as they continue to build momentum.
“To us there is no break; we just have to go and work because the task ahead is huge,” he emphasized.
