Copper Queens attacker Fridah Mukoma was pleased with her performance on Saturday after scoring a brace for Beijing Jingtan in their 2-0 victory over Shandong Sports Lottery in the Chinese Women’s Super League.
The visitors drew first blood in the 23rd minute through a stunning strike from Mukoma. She was the recipient of a glorious diagonal pass to the left wing, which she adeptly controlled.
The speedster then cut inside on her right foot before unleashing a low drive into the left bottom corner, beating the goalkeeper at the near post.
Landing the final blow against the home side in the 72nd minute, Mukoma leapt highest to dispatch the ball into Shandong’s net with a powerful header. She then had multiple opportunities to complete a hat-trick but could not convert any of them.
Beijing Jingtan ran out 2-0 winners on the day, earning three valuable points that will keep them fourth in the league standings with 11 points from 6 games.

Mukoma, 18, has now scored five goals in her first four league matches for Beijing Jingtan, making her the joint top scorer in the Chinese Women’s Super League.
“I am very happy about this game because I didn’t expect to score two goals, but I did today,“ said Mukoma in a post-match interview.
Reacting to her MVP award, she exclaimed, “I want to thank my teammates, because without them, I wouldn’t have scored two goals. I really appreciate them. We are working together.”
Next, Beijing Jingtan will face Henan Wanxianshan, where Mukoma will line up against compatriot Kabange Mupopo on June 8.
Mukoma is on loan from Kansas City Current in the United States, who signed her from ZESCO Ndola Girls..
