Kansanshi Dynamos bounced back from a three-game winless run with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Mines United in Solwezi on Saturday.
It was Dynamos’ first league win after back-to-back goalless draws against Jumulo and Kitwe United, and a 2-0 loss to Konkola Blades.

Head coach Zeddy Saileti said his team deserved the win. “We deserved to get the three points. We have gone in the league for three games we haven’t picked the maximum points. Three points is good for Kansanshi.”
The hosts took the lead in the final minute of the first half, in a tightly contested match. However, Saileti believes his side could have sealed the game earlier.
“We should have killed the game in the first half. We had a lot of scoring opportunities, but we managed to score one goal.”
Mines United pushed for an equalizer after the break and changed their approach in search of a breakthrough.
“They came back in the second half, they changed the game plan and started playing long balls, which was a bit difficult for us.”
Saileti is concerned over the tight schedule having played five matches in 14 days — including two cup fixtures — while Mines United had the previous weekend off.
“We have played a lot of games. They didn’t play last week. This was our 5th game in 14 days, which is too much for the boys.”
With the win, Kansanshi remain seven points behind leaders Konkola Blades. They are now preparing for a midweek rescheduled clash against Young Green Buffaloes, with Saileti eyeing another vital three points.
“We have taught the boys that we should not give up until the final game. We need to get maximum points against Young Buffaloes.”
