NAPSA Stars’ quest to escape from the relegation zone has hit a new snag following a 1-0 defeat to Kabwe Warriors in a Week 31 MTN Super League match at Godfrey Ucar Chitalu stadium on Sunday.
The result leaves NAPSA in 16th place with 29 points, with Mutondo Stars and Nkwazi on 31 points in 15th and 14th places, respectively.
Reacting to the result, NAPSA Stars assistant coach Keegan Syabeene described the result as disappointing, stating that they were aiming for a win after a 1-1 draw against Nkana last Thursday.
Syabeene revealed there’s mounting pressure on the club as their matches are running out with no winning coming their way.
“Of course, not the result we wanted because you see where we are. Every point is important for us to survive relegation,” he said.
On mounting pressure, he said, “Football is a game of pressure. So all we have to do is we just have to manage that pressure because we can’t run away from it. Pressure is there, but at the end of the day, that pressure is a football thing. So we just have to work through that pressure and see how we manage the remaining games.”
In a Week 32 fixture, NAPSA Stars will aim to collect maximum points from Zanaco FC in a Lusaka derby at the REIZ Arena.
