Trident Football Club moved into the top four following a 3-0 win over Young Green Buffaloes in a Week 33 Zambian Premier League National League match at Independence Stadium.
The Conquerors leapfrogged Lusaka based River Plate, also chasing, who suffered a 1-0 defeat to Chambishi Football Club.

Three teams – Konkola Blades, Kansanshi Dynamos and Mines United – have been promoted; Trident FC, River Plate and mathematically Prison Leopards are still in a chase for the remaining slot in the MTN Super League.
Trident has 54 points, while River Plate has 53 points, with sixth-placed Prison Leopards, who have played 30 matches, having 46 points.
George Chilufya’s side only needs a win in their last match to secure qualification, while Prison Leopards have the huge task of beating Chirundu United on Sunday afternoon to enhance their chances before playing their games in hand.

Reacting to the result, Chilufya praised his team for sticking to the game gameplan against Young Green Buffaloes.
He has attributed the team’s performance to a collective belief from the players and the management.
“We Need To Be Ready For Aguila” – Chilufya.
“We played according to the instructions; you know the boys applied themselves very well, more especially in the first half,” he said. “The second half, they changed a bit; our opponents changed a bit; they pushed about three strikers up front, and they tried long balls. We struggled for the second ball; that’s why maybe we looked a bit vulnerable, but again, we kept the clean sheet.”
Chilufya has termed the match against Aguila Stars at home as the most important for the team in the season.
“We are just remaining with one which is very important for us. It’s been hard work. The boys have been pushing everyone involved with Trident and have been behind us; that’s why now we are posting these results of hard work,” he said.
He continued, “We go back and plan because we have now our last very important game at home against Aguila Stars, so we need to be ready for them.”
