Patson Daka is determined to help Leicester City return to the English Premier League following their relegation to the Championship.
The Chipolopolo forward’s life at Leicester has not been rosy, as he has had to experience relegation on two occasions.
Brought in back in 2021 as a potential heir to the throne held by veteran English striker Jamie Vardy, Daka has not made the impact he would have loved to make.
The striker has since spoken publicly about the relegation and remains keen to help the club bounce back.
“It’s difficult to express how to feel right now, but I wanted to take a moment to thank the fans for your support this season, even when we didn’t deserve it.
“We didn’t show enough, but we will work together and do our best to bring this club back to where it belongs,” he wrote to his followers across his social media accounts.
The statement suggests that Daka is intent on staying at the club, whose contract with him ends in June next year.
The limited game time he has experienced at the club has left many Zambian fans calling on him to quit the Foxes, but he appears content and determined to stay on.
This season, he has made 20 league appearances, most of which have been off the bench, and has only managed to score one goal.
That goal came in the 3-1 win over West Ham United.
