Kabwe Warriors Football Club expresses remorse for the conduct of its players following the release of a video showing aggression and insults directed at match officials during the Saturday, April 19, 2025, match against the Napsa Stars at REIZ Arena.
NAPSA Stars Football Club picked up a crucial point at home on Saturday following a dramatic 2-2 draw against Kabwe Warriors.
A video has gone viral on social media showing Kabwe Warriors players harassing 2nd Assistant Referee Annesta Bwalya after Timothy Sakala’s disallowed goal in the final minute of extra time.
Kabwe Warriors Chairman Clyde Muleya condemned the behaviour of the players involved in the incident. In the attached image, one of the players who hurried out and nearly headbutted the referee was Warriors captain Clement Mundia, wearing jersey 8.
“We acknowledge concerns regarding the behavior of certain players towards match officials during our game against Napsa Stars. We condemn any form of abuse, disrespect, or violence directed at officials,” said Muleya.
“To mitigate this issue, we have begun internal disciplinary proceedings to ensure that the players involved in the misconduct towards referees are dealt with accordingly.”
Muleya has since urged the players to prioritize fair play, respect, and sportsmanship towards fellow players and Match Officials.
