The 2025 CHAN qualifying fixture between Zambia and Mozambique is uncertain, due to post election protests.
Two state buildings in Maputo, were set ablaze on Saturday, and at least 20 people were hurt in violent protests.
Zambia will travel to Maputo for their first leg encounter on Dec 21st, the Zambian FA is monitoring the situation.
Speaking in the FAZ President’s Column, Kamanga said the situation has put the fixture between Zambia and Mozambique in jeopardy.
“We are keeping our fingers crossed on the situation in Mozambique that has put our fixture against them in jeopardy given the post-election crisis. However, we will not drop the ball in terms of preparation as we want to be ready for that assignment,” Kamanga said.
Zambia will face Mozambique in Ndola on December, 28th at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
“We Are Testing Our Local Coaches “- Kamanga.
Winner between them, will qualify for the CHAN to take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in February, 2025.
Kamanga said away and home match preparations are going well.
“Our preparations are progressing normally for the December 21 away tie and December 28 home match in Ndola,” he added.
The FAZ has backed the decision to establish an all-local technical bench.
“We were happy to give local coaches an opportunity to test their expertise as part of building capacity in homegrown personnel. We are quietly investing in coach education with some of the coaches on our radar lined up for the CAF Pro License and CAF A badges,” Kamanga stated.
