On Sunday, Malawian champions, Mighty Wanderers suffered a humiliating 6-1 defeat to Tanzanian side, Simba SC in the CAF Champions league preliminary second leg fixture at Uhuru Stadium.
Last week, Wanderers lost 1-nil to Simba SC at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
Prior to the return fixture, Wanderers coach MacDonald Mtetemera promised that his side will score three goals past the Tanzanian giants to progress to the next stage of the competition.
But that was not the case, as Nomads lost almost all departments and allowed the home team to score 6 goals.
Mtetemera described the outcome as disappointing.

“I am very disappointed with some of the players on how they have played. We thought things would be easy, but they were not”
“I never expected this result. But I don’t want to appoint anyone. Otherwise we have learned a lesson,” said Mtetemera.
For Steve Barker, the Simba SC coach, he was happy with the result, saying his players played according to plan.
The road ends here for the Malawi Champions, who were chasing to reach the CAF Champions league group stage for the first time in history.
