Zambian forward Peter Chikola has revealed his target for the season at Cadiz CF B in the Segunda RFEF Group 4 league.
On October 11, in week seven of the league, Cadiz and Xerez Deportivo drew 1-1, with the 21-year-old contributing an assist in the game. Chikola has participated in three games so far this season.
Chikola, who was sidelined by injuries for the majority of the previous season, told BolaNews that he has been putting in a lot of effort to see more playing time this season.
He featured in 13 matches last season in which he only had one goal and two assists.
“So far so good am pushing; this season I want to help the team and become a top scorer in the league,” he said.
“Last season it was very bad for me. I suffered a lot with injuries. I didn’t get more minutes last season. That’s why this season I want to score more goals and make more assists.”
Chikola’s career in Europe so far
Chikola is one of the prospects from the Kafue Celtic Academy who has been tipped to go far and follow in the footsteps of some of the players the club has produced, such as Patson Daka.
In 2022, he attended trials at Croatian side HNK Gorica. During that perio he scored a brace in a 6-0 bashing of NK Krsko while playing for the reserve side.
In the same year, the left-footed forward attended trials in Austria at Sturm Graz. Despite successfully undergoing the trial, an agreement could not be reached between Kafue Celtic and Sturm Graz.
Chikola was also instrumental in helping Kafue Celtic win their first promotion to the MTN Super League. He also had a loan stint with Red Arrows.
