Pyramids FC Confirm Signing of Zambian Winger Pascal Phiri

Young Chipolopolo attacker signs three-and-a-half-year deal with reigning CAF Champions League holders

CAF Champions League holders Pyramids FC of Egypt have completed the signing of Zambian winger Pascal Phiri.

The 20-year-old has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal that will see him remain with the club until 2029.

However, with Pyramids already occupying the maximum allowance of five foreign players, Phiri will initially be registered with the club’s youth setup.

Phiri has earned one senior cap for Zambia, coming on in a friendly match against the Democratic Republic of Congo in December 2025, but he did not play at the most recent Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco despite being part of the squad.

He becomes Pyramids’ third acquisition of the January transfer window, following the signings of Palestinian midfielder Hamed Hamdan from Petrojet and attacking midfielder Nasser Maher from Zamalek.

Pyramids return to Egyptian Premier League action on Wednesday against El Gouna. They currently sit second on the table with 27 points, five adrift of leaders Ceramica Cleopatra, who have played two games more.

In continental competition, the title holders lead their CAF Champions League group with seven points after securing a draw away to Morocco’s RS Berkane on Saturday. The reverse fixture is scheduled for Saturday in Cairo.
