Simba SC of Tanzania will face Algeria’s CS Constantine on Sunday, January 19, without their vocal supporters in the CAF Confederations Cup.

This follows the CAF Disciplinary Board’s decision to prohibit their supporters from entering the Benjamin Nkapa Stadium.

Ironically, the home team has already begun selling tickets on the market in their quest to fill up the stadium on Sunday as always.

A CAF Disciplinary Board source has told BolaNews that the club will be informed today.

The board concluded that Simba SC violated Articles 82 and 83.2 of the CAF Disciplinary Code due to the misconduct of its supporters and officials.

This comes after an incident occurred during their match against CS Sfaxien on December 15, 2024, in which fans and officials intended to beat referees.

The ruling demands Simba to play its next two (2) CAF inter-club competition matches behind closed doors.

“However, the Disciplinary Board has decided to suspend one (1) match of the sanction in question provided that Simba SC is not found guilty of a similar incident for a period of twelve (12) months,” said the source.

Simba SC has also been ordered to pay a fine of forty thousand American dollars (40,000 USD), which is due within 60 days of receiving notification of the present decision.

Meanwhile, the Simba’s match on Sunday will be officiated by Celso Armindo Alvação of Mozambique.
