Power Dynamos coach Osward Mutapa is confident his side can overturn a 1-0 deficit against Al Merreikh in the second leg of their Champions League preliminary-round tie when the two teams clash at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium this weekend.
However, Chipolopolo midfielder Obino Chisala, who turns out for Al Merreikh, believes his side has done half the job and will look to complete the task in Zambia.
Mutapa admitted Power were slow out of the blocks in the first leg but believes there is still everything to play for ahead of the return fixture.
“It is sad that we have lost, but I feel we did not start very well. The first 15 to 20 minutes, we did not play our game. Then, when we started playing our game, we conceded a penalty, which I feel was not a penalty because our player kicked the ball before he touched him,” Mutapa said.
He said Power improved after the break but struggled to create enough opportunities.
“It was much better in the second half. I think they became comfortable after they got the 1-0 lead. We tried, but we did not create as much as we would have loved. But at the end of the day, the first half is done. We are down 1-0, and we have to play the second half at home,” Mutapa said.
Meanwhile, Chisala believes Al Merreikh have put themselves in a strong position heading into the return leg.
“50 percent job done,” Chisala posted on Facebook.
