Power Dynamos football club defender Kondwani Chiboni is confident the Zambian champions will reach the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

“Aba Yellow” progressed on the away goal rule, after a 2-2 draw against Namibia’s African stars and they will now face Tanzania side Simba Sports Club for a spot in the 2023/24 CAF Champions’ League group stages.

Chiboni explains in an interview with BolaNews that Power are aware of what to anticipate from Simba following their recent international friendly match.

“We are aware of Simba style of play” Chiboni

“We saw the type of players they have and their style of play during the exhibition match at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Dar-es-Salaam,” Chiboni said, “so we have a clue of what to find when we play them [Simba].”

The former Nkana right-back stated that with the information the club has on Simba after their friendly match, the technical bench will scheme a system to stop the Tanzanians.

He states that previous experiences with the Chipolopolo have helped him settle in well with Power Dynamos.

“With the CAF Champions League, it’s just like national team football and I have international caps,” he said, “ It is high level football and I have some experience of how to handle the pressure that comes with such competitive football.”

He has played three competitive matches for the defending champions and revealed how demanding it is getting to get a place in the starting eleven.

Chiboni who recently returned to Power Dynamos from archrivals Nkana after two seasons has shared his targets for the 2023/24 football season.
