After achieving his fondest dream by winning the World Cup, Lionel Messi spoke to the media and said that winning the World Cup has always been his childhood goal.

“This was the trophy I wanted all my life; it’s crazy that it happened like this.” I wanted it so much. I knew God was going to give it to me. now to enjoy it. Look at this cup; it’s beautiful. “We struggled a lot, but we won it. We can’t wait to be in Argentina and see how crazy it will be.”

“I am not retiring from the Argentina National Team. “I want to continue playing as a champion,” he said.

Since his debut in 2005, Messi has appeared 172 times for the Albiceleste and scored 98 goals.

The triumph by Argentina on Sunday night put an end to Europe’s string of four consecutive World Cup victories as Brazil was the last South American country to win the World Cup in 2002.
