MTN Super League side Nkana Football Club has appointed former striker Ronald “Sate Sate” Kampamba as the club’s new strikers coach ahead of the 2026 transitional season.

The appointment marks a new chapter for the Kalampa legend, who returns to the club in a technical role after enjoying a distinguished playing career that established him as one of Nkana’s most admired forwards.

In announcing the appointment, Nkana said Kampamba’s return forms part of the club’s efforts to preserve its rich football heritage while continuing to develop home-grown talent by integrating former players into the technical set-up.

“A familiar face to the Nkana faithful, Kampamba transitions from the pitch to the technical bench after a distinguished playing career that saw him become one of the club’s most admired forwards,” the club said in a statement.

Kampamba beefs up Tana’s bench

Kampamba will work closely with head coach Elijah Tana and the rest of the technical team, with the responsibility of improving the club’s attacking department.

“Known for his clinical finishing, tireless work ethic and leadership on the field, Kampamba will now be tasked with helping develop the club’s attacking players, working closely with Coach Elijah Tana and the rest of the technical team to sharpen the team’s goalscoring edge,” the statement read.

Nkana believe Kampamba’s vast experience, accumulated over many years at the highest level of Zambian football, will strengthen the club’s technical department as they prepare for the 2026 transitional season.

“His wealth of experience, gained over many years at the highest level of Zambian football, is expected to play a key role in mentoring both established forwards and emerging young talent as Nkana FC prepares for the 2026 transitional season.”

Kampamba will be tasked with nurturing both young and experienced players while working alongside head coach Elijah Tana and the rest of the technical team.
