Former Kansanshi Dynamos and Nkana defender John Mwengani is back in Zambia and currently training with ZPL National League side Forest Rangers, BolaNews can exclusively reveal.
The 30-year-old spent over a year in South Africa with Golden Arrows, but following the expiry and non-renewal of his contract, Mwengani has returned home and is looking to reignite his career.
Sources close to the deal indicate that Forest Rangers are in talks with the experienced defender, with both parties exploring a deal that could see Mwengani bolster the squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Mwengani, who previously featured in the MTN Super League with Nkana and Kansanshi Dynamos, would bring much-needed defensive steel and leadership to Forest’s backline as the Ndola-based outfit targets an immediate return to the top tier.
Should the deal be finalised, Mwengani will be expected to play a key role in Forest’s push for promotion after they were relegated from the Super League last season.
