Zambian players abroad: Lubambo assists, Daka scores, Lameck returns

Daka hits a brace, Lubambo delivers an assist, and Banda wins a penalty as Chipolopolo players impress in weekend friendlies and league fixtures abroad.

Chipolopolo skipper Lubambo Musonda registered an assist in a seven-goal thriller between 1.FC Magdeburg and VfL Wolfsburg during a club friendly on Saturday. The 30-year-old teed up teammate Falko Michel with a precise cutback from the right side of the penalty area.

Donning the number 10 jersey, Lameck Banda won a penalty for US Lecce in a friendly matchup against Spezia after forcing a handball from his opponent with a cross.

Daka nets brace for the Foxes, Liteta features again for Cagliari’s first team

Patson Daka kicked off his preseason campaign with Leicester City in spectacular fashion, scoring a brace against Karpaty to down them 2-1. Elsewhere, midfield starlet Joseph Liteta played the entire second half of Cagliari Calcio’s 2-0 defeat to Hannover 96 on Saturday.

In China, Changchun Yatai fielded veteran defender Stopilla Sunzu for 90 minutes in their 2-0 loss to Dalian Yingbo in the Chinese Super League. Meanwhile, Benson Sakala started again for his new club, Bohemians Praha, who fell 2-0 to the Czech champions, Slava Praha, in the Chance Liga.

Chaiwa not included in Young Boys squad, Mabika starts for Rhode Island in the United States.

Linked with a move away from the Swiss club, Miguel Chaiwa was not included in BSC Young Boys’ matchday squad for their opening league match against Servette. In the United States, Aime Mabika played the full match for Rhode Island as they suffered an exit from the USL Cup at the hands of Hartford Athletic.

Songa Chipyoka was an unused substitute for Hapoel Petah Tikva, who lost 1-0 to Hapoel Jerusalem in the League Cup. Elsewhere, Zambian U20 star Frank Chileshe started for Lokomotivi Tbilisi in the Georgian Cup, while Bonephanseo Phiri was an unused substitute.

In the Chinese women’s topflight, Fridah Mukoma made the starting XI for Beijing Jingtan against Guangdong, while Kabange Mupopo came off the bench in Henan’s 1-1 stalemate with Zhejiang.
