Mumba will compete against Mutale Ng’andu, of Super league side, Kabwe Warriors, for the position of vice-president of the Football House.

Based on several accomplishments he has made with the Association since being elected to the post in 2021, the former Zesco United General Secretary has launched his candidacy.

He aims to utilize his experience from CAF organizing committees to enhance tournament hosting in Zambia.

“This gave me a great experience, which shall come in handy when organizing tournaments in our country,” he stated.

Through implementing capacity building in leagues for strategic direction and business models, as well as providing funds to provincial offices and teams, Mumba seeks to raise the bar for provincial league standards.

“We want to enhance funding to provinces’ offices and provinces teams and also through capacity building in provincial leagues to drive strategic direction and business models to leagues and attract sponsorship”

“This will enable leagues to improve and make teams ready to play in the Zambian Premier League (ZPL) once they earn promotion to the ZPL and/or sell players to ZPL teams,” Mumba said.

Additionally, Mumba expressed his idea to start league competitions with age restrictions.

“It is our belief that all provinces get to fully set up provincial teams for U13, U15, U17, and U20 for both boys and girls to ease the selection of players for junior national teams,” he added.

If elected to a second term in 2025–2029, the FAZ Veep has also made the welfare of referees a top priority.

“Referees match officiating and transport fees in our provincial leagues remain a priority area to motivate them for the work they continue doing,” said Mumba.
