Aston Villa FC women’s academy player, Jessica Cholwe Johnson, has joined the Copper Princesses’ camp as they prepare for the second round of the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The Copper Princesses will face Tanzania in a two-legged encounter, with the first leg scheduled for the first week of March and the return fixture to follow the following week.

The 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will be held in Morocco from November 5 to November 27, 2025, marking the first time the tournament will be hosted on African soil.

Jessica, a British-born striker of Zambian descent, is one of the 35 players selected by coach Carol Kanyemba earlier this month to represent Zambia in the qualifiers.

After Zambia’s appearance at last year’s World Cup, where they exited in the group stage, Kanyemba is determined to secure back-to-back qualifications.

A win over Tanzania would see Zambia progress to the third round, where they would face the winner of the combined fixtures between Congo, Benin, DR Congo, and Niger. This crucial round will determine whether the Copper Princesses can clinch another spot at the prestigious tournament.
