Numba fumes at Warriors’ 1-all draw against Green Buffaloes

"A very disappointing result especially that we were playing at home. This is the game we dominated from the word go" said Numba.

Although Kabwe Warriors had a respectable start to the season, its coach, Mumamba Numba, is concerned about the team’s propensity to drop points at home.

Every coach will tell you that it’s important to maximize points at home thus it becomes a bit of a concern when a side is dropping important home points at will.

Their 1-all draw against Green Buffaloes on Saturday meant that from a possible nine points, they have collected five, dropping  four. Numba is not having any of it.

“We are not doing very well when playing at home. We are dropping points at home which is not a good sign for us we really need to work hard especially on our finishing,” he said.

On their 1-all draw against Buffaloes, he took a swipe at his players. For Buffaloes, the draw is a step up from their 1-0 loss to FC MUZA prior to the international break. However, prior to this Week 8 match, Warriors had defeated Zanaco 2-0 on the road.

This explains why former Zanaco coach Numba is unhappy with the result.

“A very disappointing result especially that we were playing at home“.

“We created numerous chances, this is a game we could have scored even 4-5 goals but we were not clinical in front of goal hence Buffaloes started hitting long balls and it paid off,” he said.

Mwamba Mutombo gave Warriors an early lead but Buffaloes left it late to snatch an equalizer though Marvin Kapela who beat Mangani Banda in the 89th minute.
