Napsa Stars assistant coach Keegan Syabeene says the team is targeting a strong run in the upcoming 2026 Transitional League.
The Pensioners are currently in Kitwe for a 13-day pre-season training camp as they fine-tune their preparations ahead of the new season.
Napsa Stars have been drawn in Stream A of the 2026 Transitional League and will be looking to put together a strong campaign.
Syabeene told the club’s media that preparations are progressing well, with the technical bench focusing on both the physical and mental aspects of the team.
“So far so good; mostly we are preparing the team physically and also working on the bonding side of the game,” he said.
“All teams are preparing to compete in the league, so equally this is our task as well; we are not targeting any team. We just have to prepare ourselves to be able to compete and take each game as it comes,” noted Syabeene.
The former Indeni FC boss further stressed the importance of ensuring the players are mentally prepared for the demands of the Transitional League.
“It’s a tricky league; you can’t afford to lose games. The games are few; we just have to manage the games as they come, and the players have to be ready to play and fight,” added the coach.
Syabeene said the club is united in its desire to deliver a successful campaign.
“We are looking out for the best season, the fans are looking out for the best season, and the management are also looking out for the best season. We just have to push in one direction to achieve our set goals,” concluded Syabeene.
Meanwhile, Napsa Stars will face FC Muza in their opening match of the Transitional League.
